CSV file splitter

Split records into sequential CSV parts with a shared header. Choose the maximum data rows per file and download each part separately.

Fictional sample loaded for demonstration. Your file is not sent to a Rowlane server.

1. Bring in a table

CSV or TSV · UTF-8 text · up to 5 MiB, 20,000 records, and 100 columns

All values stay text, including IDs like 0017.
Quoted commas, quotes, and line breaks are preserved. Choose the delimiter if detection is wrong.
Part size
The five-row example produces three demo files when you set this to 2. No more than 50 files are created in one run.

What this tool does

The tool chunks data records in their existing order and repeats the original header in every part. It does not divide quoted fields or text lines because it operates on parsed CSV records.

How to use it

  1. Enter the maximum number of data records for each output file.
  2. Run the splitter and note how many parts were created.
  3. Download each numbered part you need; part numbers follow source order.

2. Check the input

Confirm the header and a few records before applying a rule.

Questions

What to expect

Does a quoted line break count as another row?

No. A quoted multiline field is one parsed record and stays together in one part.

Can I download all parts as a ZIP?

This version provides one button per part and does not create a ZIP archive.

Review the destination rules. A valid CSV or a clean report does not guarantee that another system will accept the file. Keep your original and verify any export before importing it.
