Split a CSV into ordered parts

Record-based splitting keeps quoted multiline fields together and makes each part independently readable.

Choose a part size for the destination

Some import systems limit file size or record count. Use the destination’s documented limit and leave room for the repeated header. This control counts data records, not physical text lines. To exercise the five-row fictional sample, set the part size to 2; it creates three files with 2, 2, and 1 records.

Verify the sequence

Parts are numbered and retain source order. Every file begins with the same header. The last part may contain fewer records than the others. Downloaded files do not overwrite the original.

Plan for multiple downloads

The tool offers up to 50 part files in one run and presents a separate button for each. Check the part count before starting downloads and keep the sequence intact if the receiving system expects it.

Try this workflow: CSV file splitter. It loads a labelled fictional example that you can edit.
