Column orderer

Arrange every CSV or TSV field with keyboard-friendly move controls. Keep all records and cell values while changing only the output column order.

Fictional sample loaded for demonstration. Your file is not sent to a Rowlane server.

1. Bring in a table

CSV or TSV · UTF-8 text · up to 5 MiB, 20,000 records, and 100 columns

All values stay text, including IDs like 0017.
Quoted commas, quotes, and line breaks are preserved. Choose the delimiter if detection is wrong.
Output column order

Use the labelled arrow buttons to move each field. Every source column stays in the result.

    What this tool does

The tool moves complete columns and keeps every input record. Use the Move up and Move down buttons to set the final order; no cell value, row order, or header text is edited.

    How to use it

    1. Load a table with unique, nonblank headers and the same number of fields in every record.
    2. Use the Move up and Move down buttons to arrange columns from left to right.
    3. Apply the order, inspect the result headers and sample rows, then download a new CSV.

    2. Check the input

Confirm the header and a few records before applying a rule.

    Questions

    What to expect

Can I leave out a sensitive field?

No. This tool rearranges every column. Use the Column picker when you need a smaller field set.

Can I use it without a mouse?

Yes. Each column has labelled Move up and Move down buttons that work with a keyboard.

Review the destination rules. A valid CSV or a clean report does not guarantee that another system will accept the file. Keep your original and verify any export before importing it.
