Column picker

Choose which columns to keep in a new CSV. Selected fields retain their original left-to-right order, with every record preserved.

Fictional sample loaded for demonstration. Your file is not sent to a Rowlane server.

1. Bring in a table

CSV or TSV · UTF-8 text · up to 5 MiB, 20,000 records, and 100 columns

All values stay text, including IDs like 0017.
Quoted commas, quotes, and line breaks are preserved. Choose the delimiter if detection is wrong.
Fields to include

The example starts with customer_id, email, and joined selected. Selected fields keep their original order.

What this tool does

This tool projects a table onto the selected fields. It does not rename, reorder, deduplicate, or alter values. Every input record is retained, even if all of its selected cells are blank.

How to use it

  1. Read the source table and review the generated column checklist.
  2. Select at least one field to include in the export.
  3. Run the selection, confirm the output headers, and download the reduced table.

2. Check the input

Confirm the header and a few records before applying a rule.

Questions

What to expect

Can I choose a custom column order?

This tool keeps source order. Use the Column orderer when the receiving system expects a different sequence.

Are unselected values exported?

No. Only the checked columns appear in the downloaded result.

Review the destination rules. A valid CSV or a clean report does not guarantee that another system will accept the file. Keep your original and verify any export before importing it.
