Read exact-value frequency tables

Counts help reveal repeated labels and unexpected categories. Exact counts are only as meaningful as the value normalization you choose.

Choose whether blanks belong in the denominator

When blanks are excluded, the percentage denominator contains only nonblank values. When included, empty and whitespace-only strings retain their literal forms and can appear as distinct categories if their spaces differ.

Look for near-duplicates

A frequency table may show ready, Ready, and ready with a trailing space as separate values. That is evidence to inspect, not permission to merge them automatically. Use the mapper or cleaner only after deciding the intended category definition.

Interpret rounding

Percentages are rounded to two decimal places. Small rounding differences can make the displayed total slightly above or below 100 percent. The integer counts remain the exact part of the report.
