Choose a table export format

Choose an output format for the next application while keeping the limits of flat tables in view.

Use CSV or TSV for spreadsheet imports

Delimited exports preserve records and headers with quoting. A formula-prefix option can change risky cell text to reduce spreadsheet interpretation, but spreadsheet behavior varies and the prefix can affect negative numeric text. Review the target import.

Use JSON for flat records

JSON output is an array of objects keyed by the column headers. All cell values stay strings; leading zeroes are retained. This is not schema inference and does not convert numbers, dates, nested fields, or nulls.

Use Markdown for documentation

Markdown output makes a readable table for notes and documentation. Pipe characters are escaped and embedded line breaks become <br>. Very wide or large tables are usually better kept as CSV/TSV.
