What this tool does

A blank is an empty string or text containing only whitespace. Fixed-value mode inserts the same nonempty text. Previous-value mode carries the last nonblank value down each selected column independently; leading blanks stay empty.

How to use it

  1. Select one or more columns that are allowed to receive a fill value.
  2. Choose fixed text or use the previous nonblank value. Enter fixed text when requested.
  3. Review how many cells changed and download the new table and change log.

2. Check the input

Confirm the header and a few records before applying a rule.

Questions

What to expect

Are cells containing spaces filled?

Yes. Whitespace-only cells are treated as blank and replaced.

Can I fill down multiple columns?

Yes. Each selected column tracks its own previous nonblank value.

Review the destination rules. A valid CSV or a clean report does not guarantee that another system will accept the file. Keep your original and verify any export before importing it.
