Append tables

Append records from a second CSV under a first table. Fields are aligned by exact header name, even when column order differs.

Fictional sample loaded for demonstration. Your file is not sent to a Rowlane server.

1. Bring in a table

CSV or TSV · UTF-8 text · up to 5 MiB, 20,000 records, and 100 columns

All values stay text, including IDs like 0017.
Quoted commas, quotes, and line breaks are preserved. Choose the delimiter if detection is wrong.
Both starter tables are fictional. Review their headers and keys before running.
Append by header name

The second table must have exactly the same unique headers. Its column order may differ.

What this tool does

Both inputs must contain exactly the same unique header names. Records from the second input are reordered by header name to match the first. Every record is retained and original order within each input is preserved.

How to use it

  1. Load or paste the first table and the second table.
  2. Confirm both files contain the same header names. Column order may differ.
  3. Append, inspect the boundary between inputs, and download the combined table.

2. Check the input

Confirm the header and a few records before applying a rule.

Questions

What to expect

Does append remove repeated records?

No. It stacks all rows. Use the duplicate remover separately if you have a defensible key.

Do both files need the same delimiter?

Choose one delimiter for both inputs in this page. Convert either file first if their separators differ.

Review the destination rules. A valid CSV or a clean report does not guarantee that another system will accept the file. Keep your original and verify any export before importing it.
